| Q) How is it used in normal operation? |
| A-Normally after carefull setting of your minimum and maximum points you should only get a text if something is wrong. You can request a status report of all sensors at any time though. |
| Q) How many sites can be monitored at once? |
| A- As many as you like! Each unit has its own phone number therefore ID |
| Q) Can I use it where I am ? |
| A- As long as you have a GSM network, though not yet licensed for the US yet. Check this link if unsure. |
| Q) How many sensors can be connected? |
| A- One of each of EC & pH and CO2. The temperature, humidity and light sensor are integrated into the unit. You can put as many of the digital (alarm) sensors as you like in parallel but then you only know which particular bank of sensors has been activated. |
| Q) How far can the GrowSense and the sensors be apart? |
| A- External sensors can be over 100M apart |
| Q) Can I use any phone? |
| A- Any GSM mobile phone that can send an SMS can communicate with the GrowSense. You set the number of your phone (CLI number) on the GrowSense so it ONLY reacts to your phone, for security reasons. |
| Q) Can the GrowSense control fans or de-humidifiers or CO2? |
| A- Of Course ! All the sensors can either activate an output on activating a Min or Max setting, OR SMS the user. Sometimes it's usefull just to SMS the grower with a status, so he can decide whether to switch something on or not. Heaters and lights will need an extra contactor. |
| Q) What if it keeps sensding SMS texts to my phone? |
| A- SMS Alerts can be switched off and on by remote text. |
| Q) How do I Top Up my GrowSense SIM card? |
| A- With a Top up card in shops is the easiest. SIM cards are easily available of the shelf. |
| Q) What is the cost per text? |
| A- If you're carefull to use the same network for the GrowSense SIM card as your own mobile phone, they cost pennies, or even free. |
| Q What else can I switch on or off? |
| A- Any Non Inductive load up to 500Watts with the present mains switch. (Out soon). If you needed to switch HPS lights or similar, it's possible with an extra contactor. The Growsense can therefore be used as a CO2 controller, fans, nutrient refill etc. using the two switchable outputs. |
| Q) What about power cuts? |
| A- We are planning to introduce a UPS power pack so you can still monitor in the event of a long power cut. |
| Q) How is the GrowSense mounted? |
| A- Preferably on the wall, out of the way .We do supply rubber feet though for desk top use. |
